Oliviu Matei
Prof. Dr. Habil. Eng. Oliviu Matei received in 2002 M.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence from the Vrije Universiteit of Amsterdam and in 2012 his PhD in system engineering from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. From 2016 after obtaining his Habilitation in Computer Science and Information Technology, he has a select group of doctoral students. His doctoral students have promising research results. Since 2002, he works at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca where he is currently a full Professor.

Oliviu Matei holds five patents for software. His research interests include artificial intelligence with evolutionary computation, evolutionary ontologies, optimizations, robotics, transportation, operational research and related fields. He have extensive experience in participating in different research projects like: ProSeco (FP7), BIECO (H2020), SDK4ED (H2020), Big-Smart-Log (CHIST-ERA), MODSOIL (PNIII), GOhydro (ICT-AGRI-FOOD) and many others.
