🔐 Securing Complex IoT Ecosystems: A Framework for Data Privacy | COSA Project Research Spotlight (3/6)
As smart agriculture evolves into an interconnected “Internet of Fields,” massive amounts of data flow through multiple layers—from ground-level sensors to cloud storage and complex analytics. Protecting this data is paramount.
We are proud to highlight our third Q1 journal publication, published in the prestigious open-access journal Mathematics (Impact Factor: 2.3). This research addresses the critical challenge of securing these complex, multilayered systems.
🎯 The Science Behind the Security:
Our research team developed a novel Privacy Assessment Framework designed specifically for data tiers within complex multilayered ecosystems.
🌍 Key Advances and Real-World Impact:
Tiered Privacy Assessment: Provides a systematic method to classify and measure privacy risks across different architectural layers (e.g., Edge, Fog, Cloud).
Vulnerability Mapping: Helps developers and farmers understand exactly where sensitive data (like weather, soil health, or operations) is most at risk during collection, processing, and transmission.
Secure-by-Design: Offers a structured path to build more robust, compliant, and trustworthy agricultural ecosystems that resist data breaches and misuse.
This framework ensures that as we build the intelligent farms of tomorrow, we are building them on a foundation of trust and security. Congratulations to Iulian Chereja, Raul Erdei, Emil Pasca, Darius Delinschi, Adrian Avram, and Oliver Matei!
