Ovidiu Cosma
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Habil. Eng. Ovidiu Cosma received the B.S. degree in Automatic Control and Computer Science and the Ph.D. degree in Automatic Control from Politehnica University of Bucharest, in 1986 and 2004, respectively. In 2023, he obtained the habilitation in Computer Science at Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca. He is currently an Associate Professor with the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, where he also supervises a group of Ph.D. candidates focusing on machine learning research.

His research interests include machine learning, combinatorial optimization, and image processing. Within the COSA project, his work focuses on developing efficient models for the automated classification of plant diseases using computer vision, as well as semantic segmentation models for agricultural land analysis based on drone-acquired multispectral imagery.
