Petrică C. Pop
Prof. Dr. Habil. Petrică C. Pop is a Full Professor at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, North University Center of Baia Mare. His research lies at the intersection of combinatorial optimization, metaheuristics, and operations research, with a particular focus on generalized network design problems, including the generalized traveling salesman problem, clustered routing and minimum spanning tree problems, and vehicle routing variants. He has a long-standing record of leading and contributing to national and international research projects, and of supervising doctoral students whose work translates these methods into practical applications.

More about Petrică
Prof. Pop is the author of an extensive body of peer-reviewed publications, including in top-tier journals such as the European Journal of Operational Research, Computers & Operations Research, Expert Systems with Applications, and Carpathian Journal of Mathematics. His monograph, Generalized Network Design Problems: Modeling and Optimization, is a reference work in the field. Within the COSA project, he leads research applying advanced optimization techniques to smart-agriculture logistics, efficient vehicle routing for the collection of agricultural products, the design of clustered routing trees for distributed sensor and irrigation infrastructure, and hybrid genetic algorithms for large-scale combinatorial problems.
