AEGIS — Smart Specialization Platform
Decision-support dashboard for the intelligent economic specialization of localities, developed by Holisun within the COSA project.
About the platform
AEGIS is a decision-support dashboard developed by Holisun within the COSA project to analyze and identify intelligent economic specialization at the local level. The platform combines machine-learning classification with Markov-chain modeling of proximity contagion to discover the latent economic profile of administrative units and how specialization patterns diffuse across neighboring localities.
AEGIS provides a quantitative, data-driven foundation for regional development and smart specialization strategies, supporting policy-makers, regional agencies, and economic development actors in aligning their interventions with each territory’s actual potential.
Key capabilities
- Automatic classification of localities based on economic specialization profiles.
- Visualization of proximity-contagion patterns between neighboring localities.
- Recommendations for smart-specialization strategies at the regional level.
- Dashboard interface combining maps, indicators, and trend views.
